A study in which the author takes each of the common Eskimo moods in turn and looks for any Aleut correlates and also says something concerning the Eskimo and Aleut mood and other verbal forms that appear to be unique to particular branches of the family and probably of later origin. In his book Whiteheadian Linguistics, Fortescue explores the possibilities of a linguistic theory based on the philosophical theories of Alfred North Whitehead.
